A Rua Tão Bem é Sua

graphic project – social propose

'A Rua Tão Bem é Sua' is a self-project in continuous development with the aim of pointing to daily problems in our streets, neighbourhood and city. It focus on problems that we can easily solve by ourselves, if we become aware of them and change our way of being and treating the places where we live. The project began with these three posters, focusing on problematics of the neighbourhood where I live in Lisbon. With humorous tone and in semantic terms, the messages make complete sense in Portuguese.

project identity

posters

'é cocó mas não é chanel' poster

The headline means: 'It's poop but it is not Chanel', remembering the famous Coco Chanel perfum. The word coco in portuguese means poop. The second message says: 'Pick up your dog's poop'.

'beatas, só na igreja' poster

The headline literally says: 'Beatified women, only in church'. In portuguese 'Beata' have 2 meanings: a beatified woman and the end part of the cigarette, often lying on the floor. The second message says: 'Put the ends of the cigarette in the trash'.

'acelere menos, ande mais' poster

The headline means: 'Accelerate less, walk more'. The second message says: 'Go walking or by public transports'.
